Senior Project Engineer

 

Job scope

Duties and responsibilities


Duties:
Responsible for developing and designing the electronic content of quality proprietary electromechanical products within agreed time-scales according to corporate procedures; lead product development from start to production; perform necessary studies, technical requirement analysis, and quotation review to ensure the acquisition of various vehicle component programs; provide a development and design service that will assist Research and Development in achieving a close working relationship with customers;

Lead product development teams to achieve on-time deliveries and quality sign-off, and will document the development and design so that it attains Group Leader approval; initiate and document complete stack ups of the designed product to ensure a robust design; provide production with all relevant information, such as drawings for the optimal production of proprietary components and assemblies; ensure feasibility of designed components and assemblies by using all relevant steps of product design according to QM Guidelines; utilize C, CAN, LIN, AUTOSAR, Model Based Design, TargetLink, Davinci Developer/Configurator, HW design analysis, EA – Enterprise Architect, DOORS, Jira and CANoe to perform duties;

Initiate and track complete Design Verification and Product Verification according to customer specification requirements in close collaboration with corporate test lab; document proprietary software development using state-of-the-art tools like CASE-tools; provide technical support to Sales and Marketing to obtain new business; provide technical support to production areas to overcome production problems to ensure optimal quality; participate in Value Analysis and Value Engineering workshops; collaborate with other departments within KOSTAL internationally, and with various departments of customers; develop design changes to be evaluated for feasibility, cost, and timing, to attain the approval of the Group Leader.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors – Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

Training:
None

Experience:
Five (5) years in the position above, as a Sr. Electronic Product Development Engineer, as a Master Product Engineer, or in a related occupation;

Other Requirements:
Experience must include five (5) years use of all the following: C, CAN, LIN, AUTOSAR, Model Based Design, TargetLink, Davinci Developer/Configurator, HW design analysis, EA – Enterprise Architect, DOORS, Jira and CANoe.

Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.
